Russian Embassy visits Brunei Museum

On March 6, 2013 members of the Embassy of the Russian Federation visited Brunei Museum.

Curator of Exhibition of Brunei Museum Pengiran Haji Mohd Yamin bin PSJ Pengiran Haji Abd Momin gave a tour for the Embassy’s staff on the exhibition in the Islamic Art Gallery presenting the rare collection of Al-Qur’an manuscripts from India, Iran, Egypt and Turkey, jewellery, tapestries, military artifacts, glassware as well as ceramics and copper goods. Most of the artifacts showcased in Brunei Museum originate from the personal collection of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei. There is also a unique assemblage of His Majesty – silver and gold coins of practically all dynasties of the Muslim world dating back to many centuries of its existence.

Furthermore, the visitors enjoyed a wonderful opportunity to examine an exhibition titled «The Spirit of Budo: The History of Japan’s Martial Arts» displaying the reproductions of the Japanese suits of armours and weapons dated VIII-XIX century.
